What is the course objective?
To provide users with a thorough grounding in colposcopy and related topics relevant to colposcopy practice. It will enable those who wish, to obtain recognition towards BSCCP accreditation. The course can be accessed from anywhere in the world, enabling people to learn flexibly in their own time.
Who is the course aimed at?
Colposcopy Course online is suitable for gynaecologists, pathologists, GU physicians and colposcopy nurse practitioners. It is also relevant for medical and nursing staff who are commencing colposcopy and who have had no, or limited, exposure to colposcopy.
The course is BSCCP & CME approved and suitable for those wishing to apply for BSCCP colposcopy accreditation. It has also been approved for colposcopy training by the EFC (European Federation for Colposcopy) and accredited by the Norwegian Medical Association.
What is covered in the Colposcopy Online Course?
The course covers 8 modules: normal cervix; detection of cervical pre-cancer using cytology and HPV testing; colposcopy of abnormal cervical epithelium; HPV: its basic biology, clinical usage and vaccination and its role in the causation of cervical and lower genital tract neoplasia; treatment with management algorithms; and a detailed interactive session with questions and answers.
How long does the course last?
Colposcopy Course Online students will have access to the course for one year from date of purchase. This ensures ample time to complete the course.
Who are the course tutors?
The course is presented by Professor Albert Singer and Narendra Pisal, with contributions from Dr John Doorbar, a leading virologist specialising in HPV and Dr Rupali Arora, a consultant pathologist.
